    Tim’s pelt was supposed to stay in the safe behind the big painting in the middle of the second-story corridor. Close enough to him that he wouldn’t get shaky and lightheaded as long as he stayed in Gotham.
    He was supposed to keep it in the vault, hidden and secure. He was not supposed to pull it on and actually use it.
    Because a selkie skin wasn’t meant to be worn and Tim wasn’t meant to take the shape of an animal. His pelt was just an unfortunate side effect of his genetics.

    Or.

    Tim uses his pelt in ways his parents and Bruce would not approve of, and things go sideways real fast.
