Summary
“They say the Ghost has no heart,” the soldier says, casual like he’s just come back from an evening stroll instead of a torture session. Without breaking eye contact, he taps the tip of his knife, still wet with Johnny’s blood, against the one-way glass, leaving behind a smear of crimson. “But I do not think that is true. I think I have found the Ghost’s heart, and I have strung it up like meat from butcher. Right. There.”
The man smiles, close-lipped and unassuming, and that disturbs Ghost more than any grin with too many sharp teeth ever will.
“It is pretty heart. Very pretty. But like butcher, I will carve it up in front of you if you do not tell me what I want to know."

Summary
Despite Ghost's brutality and possessiveness, he's a good mate. Pushy because he knows Soap needs to be pushed. Domineering because he knows Soap is happy to accept it, to be brought to heel and follow his lead. Soap will never say a bad word about his mate, will never disparage Ghost or his behavior - he knew what he was getting into, happily followed the scent of Ghost's claim on him until he ended up in the wolf's den.
He knows Price and Gaz are concerned for him. They see the dark shadows under his eyes, brought on by the team's busy day schedule and then Ghost's nocturnal instincts rarely allowing him a full night's rest. They see the way Soap doesn't even take a piss without looking to Ghost for permission.
They're human. They don't understand, but Soap doesn't need them to.

Summary
"Close now. Remember the rules?" Ghost talks loud to be heard, but his voice rumbles low and deeper through him than the engines and their repetitive noise, an edge there that Soap can’t put his finger on, reminiscent of how he sounds when Price tightens their leash.
"There are no rules," he echoes their earlier conversation, but relents as Ghost narrows his eyes. "Forty-eight hours. I'm late, I fail. I'm caught, I fail. I die to some random animal attack or 'cause I break my ankle, I fail and ye won't come find me. That about it?"
Soap has some things to work out. Ghost is happy to help.
Neither is prepared for just how far they'll go.Bookmarked by Lilithepillith

Summary
Laying there in the middle of the room, stretched out like a sleeping cat, is a mermaid.
Specifically, a merman, Simon thinks, judging by the lack of upper body wear and the short, cropped hair.
It’s laying on its back, belly facing up. It looks dead and he’s pretty certain it is due to the large gash in the side of its torso. From the looks of things, the wound has been there for a while, blood dark red and turning brown around the edges and the injury clotting over.
OR
Pirate Simon finds a merman and saves his life. In doing so, it'll either ruin his, or change his whole world for good.
