Summary
Parrot keeps a mental catalog of the contradictions. Wifies used to love the rain; The Director stays inside. Wifies used to patch up Parrot’s wings after a rough fight; The Director is the one who clipped them.
The cognitive dissonance is driving Parrot to the brink of psychosis. He can't sleep, he can't eat, and he certainly can't trust anyone who claims to be on his side.
But when a violent nightmare causes him to flee his own base in a fugue state, he ends up at Wemmbu’s coordinates. Wemmbu, who was never part of their inner circle, who owes Parrot nothing, and who is the only person untainted by The Director's shadow.
