Summary
— “Like,” Ray carries on, a little more hesitant now, glassy eyes breaking their steadfast contact. “I’m just… some things he said earlier? Like. I just. As your friend. I’m saying this as Ray. Your friend. Best friend. Like. It’s getting to him man. You know? You can see it on his face. You. You have to tell them, Frank, man.” His eyes meet Franks again. Solemn. “You’re parents. You gotta tell ‘em, dude.”
Frank nods. Once. Slow and comprehending. Then he promptly curls forward over his own knees and proceeds to throw up all over Ray’s trainers.

or; For Frank, falling in love with the snarky drag queen from the rundown caravan club has been many things. Fun. Beautiful. Life changing. It has also become his biggest, most sickening secret.

Summary
— And then she’s forcing the same paper from earlier back into my hand, the right way around this time, so Frank’s black and white face is staring straight back up at me.
‘Missing’
Except that’s not his name underneath. And that’s not my address, or his mom’s phone number.
“There’s a lot of them down by us.” She says, words hard and cut up. “You might want look into getting them cleared up.” —
(Frank was working in the south tower the day it happened. A month after September 11th, Gerard is still grieving his death. Between juggling trying to protect his younger brother from the bigotry of his parents, maintain a job which he struggles to get out of bed for in the mornings, watching stories of families being reunited weeks after the attack with jealous apathy and fighting off the urge to head to the local liquor store, he’s given up any hope of ever really being happy again.
That is until a missing poster turns up stamped with Frank’s face but paired with a different name. Gerard is suddenly sent down a spiralling path of lies, deceit, mistrust, all the while falling hopelessly in love with the man he thought he knew all over again.)

Summary
— Shane mistakes him for a slab of roadkill at first. A flattened deer; crushed, scooped and thrown by some careless driver with somewhere better to be than his flossy, half-baked cul-se-sac in rural Ottawa.
It’s not until he’s right atop him, bicycle squealing as the brakes scrape the tyres to a sudden stop, that he realises it’s not a deer in anyway shape or form. That it’s actually a boy, alive and breathing, about his age, nineteen, maybe a little older. His eyes are closed, arms and legs stretched out in opposite directions like someone has tied him to a rack, but he doesn’t look tied up. Not at all. He looks completely, utterly untethered. —
(Or: Shane’s a suburban nineteen year old who feels trapped in a place he’s never really fit into, who, while on his daily paper route, meets Ilya, the kid who got out. Who’s still looking for somewhere to go. Maybe they can find their destinations together.)

Summary
[Part 1] - I press back against him, threading my fingers in his soft hair, his own hair that he grew, that wasn’t sewn in with a factory needle like mine. I pull, hard, because it fascinates me, and he seems to like this even more than my mouth. The sound he makes, I’m going to learn that one. It’s rough and breathless and reminds me of the choke of car engines from back when I was first made, before everything became electric. It’s so. Just. Human.
“Gerard,” he says, face pulling back but hips pressing in harder. “This is illegal.” —
The year is 2042. Twenty years after the “Wake-Up”, an event in which humanoid androids, like Gerard, malfunctioned and grew sentience.
2042. Nine years after the existence of these malfunctioned androids were decriminalised by the US government.
2042. Eighteen years after Gerard’s brother, Mikey, was recaptured and reset with a morally controversial ‘re-write’ chip.
2042. The year that Frank, a naive but well-meaning music journalist, meets Gerard.
2042. Six months before Gerard and Frank finally track down Mikey. An event which sets off an explosive chain that’ll lead Frank and Gerard to try to better the world for androids. By any means possible.

Summary
— In fact, she’s helped me come to the early conclusion that the boys' opinions mean less than nothing, because in the same breath that they’ve named Pearl Blanco’s ass the best ass in the school, they’ve also called Francis Iero ugly. Ugly. Seriously. Or unattractive. Boyish, I think they mean. And Francis Iero, Frankie, she’s seriously the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. —
(A femcr fic set in the very early 2000s in which Gee is a total loser lesbian who hasn’t realised it yet, and she has a crush on Frankie, her schoolmate who is also a total loser lesbian but like, way more cool about it. At least Gee thinks so.)

Summary
Women flock to Rozanov; he’s the gravitational centre in every room. Shane gets it. He’s felt it, the shark pull of his orbit. He’s been swallowed up into the belly of desire. What he doesn’t get is how easy it is for Rozanov. Even with Shane’s teammates pooled around him on the dance floor his hands get clammy when a girl in a sequined skirt makes a move on him. Shane used to think maybe he was just awkward; maybe he needed a couple of beers in him to loosen up, but he couldn’t do that during the season.
Then Ilya Rozanov kissed him and the craving was so clear in Shane’s mind he was able to visualise every sharp edge of it, and he knew he wanted to be on his knees.
2013. It’s been two years since he and Rozanov hooked up in Nashville and exchanged phone numbers. It’s a month till Boston comes to Montreal and Rozanov’s promise of ‘next time’ could go into fulfilment. Shane Hollander wants to play hockey. He wants to play it well. The other thing is a thing he cannot allow himself to want.

Summary
Hi Ilya,
My name is Shane! I don’t speak Russian, I hope that’s okay. I’m also 25 years old and I love hockey too! So we have some things in common.
I’ve never written an inmate before. I don’t really know why I’m doing this. I guess I’m lonely. I’m not very good at making friends or dating. I think maybe I can be a bit awkward in person, but I’m good at writing. So I hope that’s okay.

Summary
Ilya knows there is a thing about himself he has to always keep hidden in the deepest recesses of his body, behind his molars and in his core. He thinks Shane Hollander might be the same, except the thing about him he cannot hide.
Ilya Rozanov is the biggest hockey talent of his generation. So is Shane Hollander.
But over the years Ilya notices that the vicious media and the clamouring fans and some of his more foul-mouthed teammates treat Hollander differently than any other hockey player.
