It's a pleasant voice, Qifrey thinks idly. Nice and raspy, almost like a beginning of a growl. The man is still watching him through a glaze. "Gods, but you're beautiful," he says, absurdly.
Qifrey freezes in his descent. Watches the way the human wrinkles his nose as he seems to process his own words, then closes his eyes.
"Why'd I say that," he asks.

What's a dragon to do, when a dying man stumbles into his den and collapses against his hoard? Follow him home, marry him, and adopt a family, of course. Now, that's probably not right, but there's few willing or capable of correcting a dragon in something they've decided to do.
