Josuke’s world crumbled around him just like that.
Josuke’s heart breaks - is crushed and trampled - when Jotaro asks for his permission to date Tomoko. The man Josuke’s in love with (his older nephew, not that it matters now), attracted to his mom?! You can’t blame Josuke for being devastated.

When Josuke glanced up at Jotaro again, the smile on his lips looked pained. The sight tugged at Jotaro’s heartstrings in all the wrong ways. “I made a mistake. I’m not in love with you.” A self-deprecating chuckle. “Obviously. It wasn’t even a crush. It’s just… you’re really cool, Jotaro, and I’ve never known anyone like you. So I ended up confusing admiration for something else. I’m really sorry, Jotaro. It was stupid of me.”
This was easily the best possible outcome of this whole misguided, delusional mess. So why didn’t Jotaro feel relieved? Why wasn’t there a weight lifting off his shoulders? Why did it feel like a stone had dropped into his gut instead?
Jotaro realizes how he feels only when it’s too late. Then again, timing doesn’t really matter - not when this love has been doomed before it even started.

In the fleeting moments when he looks back Jotaro wonders, if he’d ever taken an interest in anything Sadao ever pushed him to do, then maybe he wouldn’t have ended up at that party. He stares down this menacing shape as it fully takes form as a person. But not just any person. No. The features are meticulously crafted, even though they’re slick and reflective, bearing the same bluish hue the slime has had since the beginning. The height, the hips, the posture, the hair–
No fucking way.
The slime has taken on the form of Josuke.
Was it because it drew Josuke’s blood? Was this a DNA replication? How much of the slime was Josuke? Just the shape? Or maybe more than that? -- He stands stock still and waits, scarcely allowing himself to blink as the Slime-Josuke flexes its jaw and makes a few warbling sounds, testing its vocal cords. After a few unnerving attempts, the tone is almost exactly right, save for a strange wetness that makes the hairs along the back of Jotaro’s neck stand on end.
“Jotaro-san.” It says, calmly, like it’s just getting a feel for the name in its mouth. And then again, dragging, drawling, like the simple act of speaking has a tangible flavor that it enjoys:
“Joootaro-saaaan.”

He’s teased around the idea, he knows what he likes, what he’s pretty sure he’ll love, and though it’s daunting, when Jotaro leaves at seven in the morning, Josuke sneaks out shortly thereafter for a quick trip to the drug store to purchase supplies. There’s something especially mortifying about buying the things he does and the lady at the register is kind enough not to look him in the eye as he pays for what is very obviously, a lot of stuff that amounts to a teenager about to have sex.

The arch opened to more sand - a smaller beach, obscured by cliffs and water alike. Private. Well, Josuke would be lying if he claimed beach sex wasn’t on his bucket list. But before that…
“Now will you tell me what’s up with you? ‘Cause something’s clearly going on.”For an insultingly long moment, Jotaro didn’t react. Left Josuke to fidget in place, dig his prized loafers into the ground and pretend the cool evening breeze and the crashing of the waves eased his mind.
When Jotaro answered a small eternity later, he didn’t sound like himself at all. Jotaro Kujo’s voice didn’t waver, period. And yet.
“How can you still act like you want my attention after what I did to you?”
After the life-changing events of the past afternoon, after finally experiencing the intimacy Josuke has been craving with Jotaro for months, one can’t blame him for floating on cotton candy clouds. Actually, the comparison doesn’t even begin to describe the sheer extent of Josuke’s elation.
How foolish of him to assume Jotaro feels the same.

The enemy stand’s eyeless face split around its crooked grin, an expression of both contempt and sadistic glee. “There’s only one thing that will save the kid now and you know exactly what it is!”
Jotaro did know, deep down, somewhere amidst the toxic current of foreboding stewing in his gut - but he’d be damned if he accepted that as the only way. Not before he’d tried absolutely everything else.
But he had. He’d tried every single fucking thing. And still, Josuke’s fever kept rising, his temperature raging under his skin long beyond humanly possible, his face twisted in immeasurable pain.
He was running out of time.Jotaro had believed he had a precise picture of the worst possible things that could happen to him - most of them he’s lived through. The fact that this most fucked up of scenarios hadn’t even crossed his mind should be a relief. A sign Jotaro still retains a shred of sanity. Not that it’ll last.

It hadn’t escaped Jotaro’s notice that lately, he had been coming back to the apartment a lot more than he usually would. No matter where he was in the world, he always hurried home at the first opportunity after a mission, sometimes even knowing that he would have to leave again come morning. As though an invisible force was pulling him right back to Josuke. And maybe it was - maybe those Joestar family bonds were doing their job or whatever.
What family bonds couldn’t explain, however, was how just a glimpse of Josuke’s confident grin had the power to get Jotaro through the day.
But now that he knew what it felt like to have all that, he wasn’t so sure how he would manage when it was gone.
When Josuke goes to attend high school in America thanks to a sudden scholarship, Jotaro agrees to take him in, even though he is aware of the intensely mixed feelings his decision will force upon him. (Or rather, further complicate a dilemma Jotaro has been struggling with for longer than he likes to admit.)
