Summary
It’s the holiday season, and Varian’s coming back to Corona for the first time in three years. It’s supposed to be a good thing, or so he tells himself. A chance to be with his dad, to reconnect with his childhood friends.
When he discovers Hugo is also home for the holidays, he doesn’t care. He doesn’t. So what if they were maybe a little bit in love when they were teenagers? So what if Hugo had unapologetically left Varian utterly heartbroken? It’s not like he’s still hung up on him.
Despite this unforeseen… challenge, Varian is determined to not let Hugo get to him in any way. But when he starts to realize that this isn’t the same boy who’d left him, and that maybe there’s something left between them… well, you know what they say.
Tis the damn season.

“I’ve been leading us to this very moment, dreaming about what it might be like when we finally reach the eternal library. And I can’t help but wonder… what if it’s not everything I dreamed it would be?”
Hugo tilts his head, suddenly overcome by the irresistible urge to hug Varian, or hold his hand, or do something stupid to get that worried expression off his face.
After a long pause, he finally manages, “it will be, Goggles.”
Varian smiles softly and turns to Hugo. “And what if it is? What do I do then?”
Hugo, mouth dry and heart pounding the longer Varian looks at him with that soft gaze, has to force his tongue to form some sort of coherent response. “That’s the good part, I guess. You get to go find a new dream.”

“It’s okay,” Varian murmurs. “I’ve got you. I’ll get you all fixed up, and you’ll be better in no time.”
The wolf looks up at him through eyes half-lidded with exhaustion. He blinks slowly, then his body goes limp. When Varian holds him closer to his chest, the wolf leans into his touch ever so slightly, as if he understands Varian’s words. As if he believes them. He blinks once, twice, before his eyelids flutter shut.
With an aching heart, Varian leans in close enough for his lips to brush the top of the pup’s head. He doesn’t say anything, but he doesn’t need to, for an oath spoken through silence is just as powerful as one spoken through words.
I’ll take care of you. I promise.
Or, Varian finds an injured wolf pup and decides to do everything in his power to make sure he lives.

Summary
It started when Varian stormed into their shared lab like a tornado, clutching a stack of envelopes stamped with the seals of various kingdoms.
“Hello to you too, Goggles.” Varian doesn’t slow as he marches towards Hugo. “Where’s the—“
Fire, he doesn’t get to say before Varian is standing close enough that the toes of their shoes are nearly touching.
“I need your help.”
Hugo has to bite his tongue to prevent himself from saying something embarrassing like “always” or “I would do anything for you”, and instead raises an eyebrow to show he’s listening.
Nothing could prepare him for the words “I need you to be my boyfriend” to come out of Varian’s mouth.

Summary
When Will needs to get his thoughts out of his head, he writes a letter he never intends to send. He addresses it to Mike, and tells him everything.
Feeling lighter than he has in weeks and buoyed by the adrenaline of writing it all out, Will acts on an impulse and ends the letter with, "If you’d be willing to give me a chance, I’d be really happy to date you. If you’re open to trying it, please meet me in Castle Byers this Saturday at 2:00pm. I’m not asking for any promises, I’m not asking for forever or anything like that; all I’m asking is that you give me a chance. Come if you want; if not, I completely understand, no hard feelings, and I’ll never, ever mention this again."
He forgets all about the letter, and the distinctive red envelope he stowed it in, until he turns around to find it missing. Now, Will has to think of some way to stop Mike from reading that letter - or should he wait at Castle Byers on Saturday at 2:00pm and pray for a miracle?

Summary
