It's everywhere Robert looks. The streets are a graveyard, a feeding frenzy. It smells like mold and Dad's barbecues, and Robert knows that if he makes it out of the city, he'll never touch steak again.

Robert's on duty when the apocalypse breaks out. All he can think about is getting home, getting his dog, and then getting the fuck out of LA. Chad just wants to know why he always ends up crushing on the crazy ones.

There's a hiss from the kitchen, followed by a dull 'thump'. Chad rolls his eyes and pads into the living room, where the open plan of their house — pure, unadulterated glee washes through Chad, 'our house' prancing through his ears like a yappy dog — lets Chad take in the disaster unfolding in their — their! — kitchen.
Robert's ripping his hand away from a pan, shaking it out with a wince. The scars across his face make the wrinkle in his nose and the furrow of his brow more pronounced, and Chad, with all the joy in the world, happily steps over to smooth his husband's frown lines out.

Prism sucks her teeth, eyes rolling behind her visor. “Like you don’t talk mad shit with us,” she says, hand coming up to wipe off the blood on her face. “We’re here ‘cause someone doesn’t know how to be a normal human being.”
“Fuck off, Princess Bubblegum,” Invisigal snaps. “It was a joke. If this fucking meeting wasn’t about ‘sexual harassment’,” she rolls her eyes and makes finger quotes, “it’d be about us being too loud on the radio, or us not being a picture-fucking-perfect hero squad, or us fucking up something on a call.”
Flambae hisses out another burst of sparks. “Don’t roll your fucking eyes,” he says, lip curled into a sneer, “you know full well that was a creepy fucking line, Invisibitch.”
OR: Invisgal makes another comment. Robert hits his limit, and so does the Z-Team.
