    Summary

Ilya had told Shane to leave because they needed space - they needed some room to catch their breath so they could talk about things properly. So they could say sorry and fix the mess they had made. But one day apart stretched into two, into three, into a week, and suddenly Shane was on the other end of the phone, saying, ”Maybe this isn’t going to work, Ilya.”

At least Ilya is good at that part; he’s an expert in being left behind.

    Summary

Entering an actual relationship near the very beginning of when they first meet, Shane is still paranoid about pictures of them getting shared so Ilya buys him a Polaroid camera instead to document their relationship all the way back from 2012. The only problem is that he never intended for Yuna to find the album.
    ---
“I know we can’t have pictures of each other, but I still want them,” he confessed, still fiddling with Shane’s hair for his own comfort. “And I thought maybe...if they were just ours, you might be okay with it.”

Shane stayed silent, eyes glancing between his tense expression and the bag as he pulled out a Polaroid camera. His thumb was gripping it so hard he thought it might crack, his anxiety manifesting physically.

“Ilya...” He paused, finally sitting up a bit more. Enough that Ilya had no choice but to let his hand fall away from his hair or else, it would seem too clingy.

“Is fine, if you don’t like idea,” he clarified, even though the thought of being rejected terrified him more than he could possibly express. “Was just a thought—”

“I like it,” Shane interjected before he could spin himself into a tizzy he would deny ever feeling in the first place.

Ilya has always known Shane could do better than him. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that he’s finally found it.

    Found someone else.

Because that’s what this is, isn’t it?

    “I can’t tell you anything.”

”Oh, come on!” She whined and Shane couldn’t help but laugh. “When have you ever been able to talk to a friend about the hot guy you’re seeing?”

    ”We’re not see—“

”Or not seeing.” He could practically hear her eyes rolling. “Semantics. Answer the question.”

    ”Never. Obviously.”

    Summary:
Ilya is finally at the cottage. He’s beautiful in the mornings. He scratches his tummy when he’s sleepy. Shane is so enamored and he needs someone to know. So what if that text message Shane received from Rose wasn’t the only one?

Moments at the cottage you missed, the text messages Shane sends about a mystery guy to the only other person who knows he’s gay, and the one text he sends to the wrong person by accident.

    Summary

“I think you should check your socials.”

“Anything in particular?” He hated checking the socials. He hated the socials period. He could safely live without any of them in his life forever and not be sad.

His mom sighed tightly. “Your alerts for Ilya.”

He instantly pulled out his phone. “What did he do?”

She looked sympathetic, at least. “I think you should take a look yourself.”

Checking Twitter first, he saw a photo of Ilya at his usual coffee stop after therapy. But he looked like hell. He looked like he’d lost a damed war. His t-shirt had tiny tears and dirty, his hair was a mess, and his face was red and there were cuts. “He did NOT leave the house like that this morning,” he assured his mother.

“There’re other photos. They actually look worse.”

    **

    Ilya encounters a great terror.
