Summary
When Harry Potter's fourth year at Hogwarts opens, the Ministry of Magic is a bureaucratic warzone. The Government has initiated "Asset Audits" to seize the estates of ancient houses, and Harry is their primary target.
Cut off from the oblivious "Light" side, Harry is forced into a tactical alliance with Daphne Greengrass, the only Slytherin brilliant enough to navigate the labyrinth of the law. Using the ancient Rite of the Living Shield, Daphne offers a "Legal Association" that protects Harry's sovereignty by binding his fate to hers.
But as the Triwizard Tournament traps Harry in a new, magically binding contract, they realize the war isn't fought with wands—it’s won in the fine print. Harry must stop being a hero and start being a Sovereign, before the Ministry hangs him for "Magical Negligence" and steals his future.

A companion piece to The Long Game. Not really a sequel as much as a spin-off that I haven't yet decided is canon to the universe it belongs in.

I had this concept in mind for a while, inspired by the fact that Samantha Traynor and the Inquisitor are both voiced by Alix Wilton Regan. Also, there are so many parallels between Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Mass Effect... not to mention Rook just feels like a younger Shepard. It's an idea that writes itself, really.
