“Well,” Jean sighs, “I can’t blame you. That drunk idiot sure knows what not to say to people.”
“It’s not just him.” Armin responds, voice small, “It’s everyone. Everyone has all these… these questions. Questions that I just don’t know how to answer.” His fingers dig into the sand, “I’ve been able to tolerate the discomfort. I mean, I should’ve expected it, right? The questions. But I… I’m tired. I’m tired of the questions.”
Or: While the world continues to rebuild, the Peace Ambassadors attend a banquet. Armin reaches a breaking point. Jean is there to console him. They share a dance.

Something collects in his throat as he thinks about this, unsure how to phrase it without sounding weird, but he eventually settles on being direct. “Yeah, it was something about the judges. Apparently, they’d tank our scores for skating that far apart.”
Mikhail hums, taking another step forward. “How close should you be then?” he asks. “Like this?”
“No,” he replies, throat dry. He tries his best to swallow down whatever’s lodged in there as he’s forcibly launched into the memory of what they just did. “It’s probably even closer.”
