Hazel was the youngest of four. Harriet, who was basically Captain Hook Jr. Harry, who saved the world, CJ, the perfect pirate. And her. Little Hazel Hook. The baby of the family. The runt.
That was what everyone called her growing up. No matter that she was better at knots than CJ. Or that she learned sword fighting at a younger age than Harriet. Or that she was a captain, not a first mate like Harry. She was always “Little Hazel Hook.”
For a VK, she should have known better than to hope that someday her family would see her as one of them, instead of the odd one out.
Well, Harry never did.
