Summary
A high stress mission for everyone on team Voltron comes to a head with an urgent and terrified message from Shiro telling everyone to get back to the castleship because Keith's injured and unconscious. Thankfully Shiro gets to the infirmary and they get Keith in the healing pod in time. Three long and stressful quintants later Keith's finally getting out of the healing pod and everyone breathes a sigh of relief because everything is going to be okay now.

In a simpler time, full of innocence and childish wonder. Before years of pent-up hurt, betrayal, and resentment (amongst other things) eventually wore down their close-knit bond. There are treasured memories, though few and far between, hidden away and buried deep to protect them being tarnished by the present state of things.

Buck had spent all his energy on a shift full of difficult and long calls, leaving him drained. Leaving the whole crew exhausted, craving for home, for the warmth of company of their family. Most of them were in the showers or already getting dressed to leave.

Summary
Buck considered it to be a successful call. Or he would, if not for the burn that covered his side and stung every single time Buck breathed in. Or breathed out. Or didn’t breathe. It hurt constantly, is what he was saying.
Basically, he couldn’t wait to get back to the firehouse so he could drag himself to an ER and get it looked over.
Sure, he technically could have one of the very trained paramedics that he worked with look over him, but he didn’t want to bother them with a trivial little injury. Especially because he was sure they all wanted to go home just as badly as he did.
