Summary
sooner or later. ghost expected one or the other to come at him.
when it comes to this line of work, it could only be safe for so long; rather, it’s a feat he’s managed to stay alive till now, considering that living to see another day is never a guarantee. though, maybe he should’ve known that. he did, but, for a second, for an ignorant, gullible second, he thought otherwise. and for that, the world reprimands him.
(or ghost gets left behind when a mission goes awry. it'd be a lot easier to get back to base if he wasn't haunted by the thought of soap on every turn.)

Summary
It’s only now that Soap realizes the skull isn’t that– a skull. It’s a mask. There’s skin around the eyes, stained black with grease paint. There are flashes of pale pink as the gloves tear at the black fabric underneath the hard-plated skull, the same tone as the exposed forearm.
It’s not even a skeleton. It’s a man. A dead man.
Soap is haunted. A strange, horrified figure of a dead man won't leave his periphery-- and it seems to want something. If he wants to fall back into any semblance of normalcy, he'll have to deal with this specter hands on.
As things turn out, aiding the dead may be more complicated than he'd thought. -

Summary
“‘Good boy,’ he purred, his tone deep and his accent thick like honey. It was risky of him, to call someone so volatile something so… sensitive, but Soap trusted himself, and he trusted his instincts when it came to Ghost. It had seemingly been the correct choice, because there was an immediate change in Ghost’s behavior. Soap watched as his eyes widened, and a long, low whine came from his throat. Soap had the lieutenant whining and writhing underneath him, all from just a few words. It made him feel powerful beyond belief.”
(Alternatively, Ghost interrupts Soap’s much-needed shower.)

Summary
Sometimes soulmates get off on the wrong foot.
-
"Spider-Man!” the ninja shouts delightedly, in a bitterly cold Canadian accent that nips at Peter's nose.
No prologue. No frills. Just the name.
He sheathes up his sword and extends a hand in the hope of shaking Peter’s. “So glad I finally have the honor of meeting the biggest piece of shit this side of the Mason-Dixon. I’m dying to know, were you assigned cop at birth or was it a sort of gradual process of self-discovery?"
Peter keeps his mouth clamped shut. He’d gag himself with a web if he could shoot it through the suit. He’s going to be razor-precise with the words he brands into this man’s arm.
