What makes a family?
Is it the blood you share? The name you carry? Or is it something less tangible—something felt rather than seen?
For Sirius and Regulus Black, the answer has never been simple. Each of them has their own idea of what family means, though neither could explain it easily—not until much later. Because figuring it out… that took time. And pain. And lots of learning.
The truth is, what makes a family looks different to everyone.
For the Potters, it’s love.
Love that is steadfast, freely given, and never earned. A kind of love that opens its doors to broken boys and whispers, You belong here.But love isn’t always easy—especially when the person you’re trying to love doesn’t know how to accept it. When trust has been shattered too many times, and hope feels dangerous.
Still, through every argument, every silence, every small step forward, love remains.
And somewhere along the way, Sirius and Regulus begin to ask themselves the question they never dared to before:
When did I first feel loved?

for as long as bucky could remember, he’d wanted to be an architect. after 6 long (long) years and a masters degree to prove it, he’d gotten the dream job at a cushy firm that was paying him a lot of money to do the only thing he ever really loved.
then, his sisters sudden death found him no longer the fun uncle but the sole guardian to a 6 month old he had no idea how to take care of.
so, he quit his job and used a chunk of his savings to buy a garage shop with a little apartment over it in the middle of brooklyn and became every architects worst nightmare: a contractor. a for hire residential contractor.
a year later, captain america and all his quiet anger came stumbling through the door and without bucky realizing, everything changed.

Summary
In the haze of the summer, Harry can hear the magpies chirping.
Is it before or after it happens that they stop? He can't quite remember. It's a weird mixture of relief and horror, what he feels in the moment.
He always told Dumbledore that something bad would happen if he went back to the Dursley's.
And now something bad has happened.
Like the magpies, like an omen of bad luck, he remains in violent prophecies once more.

Summary
Bucky Barnes has a lot to contend with in the 21st century. One difficult task after another is laid out in front of him: managing his new found freedom, attending therapy and working through his trauma. It's a struggle, but recovery is not a straight line, as his therapist so often likes to remind him.
He has to navigate this friendship / relationship / whatever it is with Sam all the while managing his guilt and shame for his years as the Winter Soldier, and his grief over Steve's death. Then of course there’s these new super soldiers that have appeared out of nowhere that have to be dealt with, along with the frustrating inclusion of new faces, like Walker, and the familiar, like Zemo.
And then there is another task, one that sometimes seems to be the most difficult task of all: learning to be kind to his past self.
Rewrite / fix it of TFATWS – you do not need to read the other parts of this series, this works as a standalone. Pre TFATWS to about three months after the series ends. Not just a rehash of the TV series, I like to bounce off canon and do my own thing. I generally update fortnightly.
