Peter awoke with a startle, gasping for air— only, he couldn’t. Liquid surrounded his whole being, trapping his lungs and stopping his ability to breathe. He panicked, spashing in the mysterious liquid. He couldn’t think of anything other than to get out. He tries to swim up, desperate for just one breath of fresh air— hell, he doesn’t even care if it’s fresh!
He tries to get out, he really does. He kicks and squirms for about two minutes before his lungs decide to give out. He knows he’s dying, but it doesn’t really register to him. His last thought before everything goes dark is: is this how everyone feels when they’re drowning?
