There was no reason that Harley should’ve been caught off guard in the way that he was. There was no reason why his brain shouldn’t have connected the spider-shaped dots ahead of time, but alas, for a supposed genius, even he could be blindsided.
“Hey Pete?” Harley asked, his brow furrowed in confusion as he inspected the suit.
“Yup?” Peter called back without looking up.
“Where are the mechanics for the webshooters located?”
This time it was Peter who looked puzzled, shifting his attention over to the mechanic, who was still hunched over the desk. “The what?”
(Or: Harley had assumed that Peter's webs were artificial and is surprised, to say the least, when he finds out otherwise.)
