“I want to watch the sun rise.” Ben muttered, “It reminds me that even as the dark sets in, the light will come back around eventually. It always does. It has become hard to remember that recently.”
The answer left Jaster speechless.
Ben sounded wounded– hurt in a way which would not heal with time alone. He looked like a tired Verd, a battle-weary warrior. Jaster had seen the look before. Many Verde wore it. The glint of deeply rooted pain sparked in Ben’s eyes too.
Instead of asking more, Jaster turned his head to watch the sunrise along with Ben.
It was peaceful.
The dawn of a new day.

Summary
Din Djarin’s first exposure to the world outside the Tribe was in the Fighting Corps. It was the first time he’d ever considered that the Tribe's teachings may be wrong, and though he went home, he never forgot the Mandalorian who saved his life. Adults now, they cross paths again, and Din takes the chance to learn more about his people.
Journeyman Protector Jaster Mereel comes across a bounty-hunter camping on his land. Turns out it's the kid he saved in the Fighting Corps years ago, who now asks him for history lessons. There isn't a universe Jaster says no to this.
