“Did someone hurt you?” Lachlan asked again, voice low. Lannan lifted his head to watch Lachy stare as if an injury might suddenly appear if he looked hard enough.
“Woah! Am I interrupting something?”
Lannan shot his head to his left. There, stood in the doorway, with an overnight bag on his shoulder and a mocking grin on his face, was Lachlan’s brother Mitch. It must look a strange sight: Lannan relaxed on the counter with a cup of coffee in his hands and a shirtless Lachlan stood between his legs, fuming and staring at him like he might spontaneously combust if he dared to look away.

I never expected to read this. I stumbled across it while looking for something else. But by God am I glad I found it. It's a complete au with inspiration from Canon so you don't need to know the comics or the series to read it, but knowing the characters helps as I was squealing aloud at every name that I recognised. It's beautifully written, and beautifully researched. It kept me on tenterhooks and I read the whole thing in just under two hours, I literally couldn't put it down. Wow. Oh my god.
I'm just realising that I seem to have written an actual book review for this, but I'm not mad. It left me with a lot of thoughts and feelings and it's definitely a fic that I'm going to be coming back to
