Summary
There is only so much the barrier of reality can take before it snaps. In most cases this results in the near complete reset of the universe. In this universe—it still resulted in the reset of the universe, but in a completely different way. This universe collapsed in such a way as to absorb scattered aspects of several other paths.
Aka. wherein (I turn established universal manipulation mechanics against DC and) instead of New 52, the universe pulls a Jon White-Kent and a Flashpoint

Summary
Looking back, there were so many obvious signs that he was dead.
Or: Shang Qinghua gets killed, but he doesn't notice it, becomes Calamity, and keeps working. Perhaps he's getting a little over the top with what he was.

Summary
"No," Fingon said, "I had no child in Beleriand, nor would I have breached the customs of our people in this way. I would not have a child outside marriage, nor in a time of war."

The Origins of Gil-galad are a great mystery. Even to the people actually involved in them, apparently.
