ABSTRACT: Cardassians exhibit unique epidermal morphology among other humanoid species, bringing with it a different set of physiological mechanisms than those experienced by simian-derived groups. This in turn has implications for both clinical and outpatient care, where a lack of literature and training on the topic has led to a fairly weak understanding among non-Cardassian medical personnel. This paper outlines the physiological process behind the scale shedding cycle, or Chusept, and provides the first set of comparative findings on cycle length (that is, both the frequency and duration) across age groups...
