Up close, she’s even more radiant with her hazel eyes that sparkle in the moonlight. They narrow as she presses the cold rag to the lower half of his face. The concentration in her expression makes it feel like he’s her patient or something, rather than just a stranger at the bar. But the delicacy of her touch paired with her hand resting on his bicep makes Frank feel like he’s the only man left on earth.

Tim swallows hard, his eyes never leaving hers as she speaks.
He can see the tears in her eyes. She’s stubbornly refusing to let them fall, because she’s one of the strongest women he’s ever known, but he sees them and he hates what they represent.
“If it’s spread I’m just really, really fucked.”
