Summary
Zuko, ruling Lord of the Fire Nation, has spent the last thirteen years attempting to remedy a hundred years’ worth of atrocities. After his breakup with Mai, he’s remained stoically single, burying himself beneath the duty of overhauling his nation while facing daily opposition. But nearing thirty without a Fire Lady or an Heir Apparent has left Zuko politically vulnerable.
Toph, future Countess of Beifong, has spent the last thirteen years trying to build a legacy of her own. After her breakup with Satoru, she’s been rejecting persistent marriage offers while running her academy and struggling to establish a metalbending security force. But turning twenty-five without a husband or political backing has left Toph socially vulnerable.
A fake courtship should solve all their problems. It will give Zuko a break from court pressure, a chance to organically find a Fire Lady through a love match, and deter opposing factions. It will give Toph a break from familial pressure, a powerful tool to advance her academic and career goals, and deter suitors. Everything will be practical, temporary, and completely false.
However, neither Toph nor Zuko have ever been any good at doing what they’re supposed to.

Summary
Melissa King did not have the best of prospects. She had a suitable dowry, a respectable family, and she was pretty enough. However, she also came with a big stipulation: her husband would not only have to provide for her, but also for her twin sister. Mel would not marry a man who did not let Rebecca King live with them.
With this big of an obstacle in her way, Mel should have been out looking for a husband as often as she possibly could.
She was not.
—

When her friend Miss Samira Mohan persuades her to come to London for the social season, Mel finds herself growing closer to a strange and handsome man with his own handful of secrets tucked close to his chest.

Summary
When he finds the courage to leave the comfort of her steam shrouded bathroom, he makes his way out to the living room.
He stops in his tracks when he hears her, a fond smile etching onto his face.
He’s careful to disguise his footsteps on the vinyl floor, not wanting her to stop. He was rapidly beginning to realize he could listen to her sing forever.
She flits around the kitchen, alternating between humming and singing along to whatever music played in her ear, and all Frank can do is watch.
“Oh!” She says with a jolt when she finally notices him, “Frank! How are you feeling? I made spaghetti…spaghetti’s okay, right?”
“Yeah.” He nodded, “Yeah, spaghetti’s okay.”
She shuffles out of the kitchen a few moments later with two bowls in tow, “We can sit at the table, the couch…whatever you’re most comfortable with. If you want we can put something on the TV, that’s what Becca usually likes to do…”
“I like when you sing.” He can’t stop the words from coming, and he doesn’t regret them one bit when he watches her face change shades if only slightly.
“Oh.”
