    Summary

24 platforms had stood in a circle around a structure so golden it had blinded Ceres’ eyes.

From the bloody snow, a lone survivor had emerged.

Grim and silent, the figure now walked out of the shadows, a trail of the most vibrant crimson red followed behind. She carried her sins with her, her shoulders almost succumbing to the weight of it, but still she stood tall and prideful.

She was a victor, dead nor alive, but a victor nonetheless...

    Summary

He had been a good kid, once; hard-working, loyal, self-sacrificing.
But none of those core traits defined him now.
Silas remembered so vividly that he'd told Dolores he'd never hurt someone, but here he was, with blood staining his hands and a head full of sin.
Maybe that had been his part of the curse; to be granted a long, but troubled life.

Dolores would've handled it better – Dolores wouldn't have given herself up for the greater good.

Who was he, Silas Biidaasige, to pretend he would have ever died a hero?
Because that part of him, that mirror's shard, had long fluttered away, on the wings of Dolores' death.

Or, the story of Silas Biidaasige, District Nine victor of the 80th Hunger Games, and how he breaks the curse that has dragged his family down for ages.

    Summary

Ceralie Cole, the eldest of four, lives in the tenement-filled city of District 8, toiling away at a bedsheet factory while dreaming of her old life on the farm. When she is reaped in the 68th Hunger Games, she finds herself back in nature, and discovers a person that she never knew existed, or could ever exist, and a self-confidence that might actually give her the chance to become a Victor in this year's Games.

--This work follows the original canon and facts of Suzanne Collin's "Hunger Games" series as closely as possible, but few characters overlap from the books to my work--

    Summary

Cassia Vale was raised to survive long before she was ever chosen for the Hunger Games.

As the daughter of two District One victors, Cassia grew up beneath impossible expectations, trained from childhood inside the Academy where weakness was punished and perfection was demanded. Every lesson, every injury, every sacrifice shaped her into exactly what Panem wanted her to become: a victor.

When Cassia volunteers for the 69th Hunger Games alongside fellow Academy tribute Thane Corwin, she enters the Capitol determined to prove herself worthy of the Vale name - worthy of surviving the arena her parents conquered before her.
But survival becomes far more complicated once the Games begin closing in around her.

Guilt follows her into the Capitol, and the weight of expectations threatens to crush her entirely, Cassia finds herself drawn toward the one person who understands the cost of victory better than anyone: Gloss Nicholo, District One's dangerously charming victor and her mentor.
What begins as quiet understanding slowly turns into something deeper.
Something terrifying. Something worth surviving for.

    Summary

Since the announcement of the First Quarter Quell, Panem was left in shambles.

"Choose your tributes", the Capitol said, its cruelty knowing no bounds, just as nobody knew the limits of distrust, their views filled with cynism. People in the districts hid their children away, not trusting their own neighbours, knowing that whoever ends up being chosen, the only thing one could think of while looking at them can be "good riddance", since what else it can be when your entire home wants you gone?

The mayor of District 9 played with the reaping odds too much and way too greedily, now having to play fair when his own son's name is on the verge of being selected, with Garner Adley, a rich boy, spoiled and unprepared, having all kinds of luck against him, going straight into the claws of death without any hope of seeing the familiar fields again.
