Grian has no idea how he found himself in this position, having been invited to the King's chambers to guard him. He thought he was going to guard outside the door but no, here he is trying his best not to stare as the King brushes out his long hair. He's heard of the stories the other knights have spoken. Having a King who lays with his guard is the most scandalous thing, but King Scar thinks otherwise.

Summary
When the largest elven kingdom is raided and overthrown the remaining survivors are forced to leave their home and on the run to find a new place to settle, the new king, Scar, now has to live with the image of his parents' death and last words to him, seared into his mind for he had no time to process before being forced to become the beacon of leadership he has been taught to fill for his people and having to be the supportive big brother he has to be to protect his three younger siblings.
In the meantime, Grian struggles to be patient with his fiance's slowly decaying mentality and waiting for Scar to stop masking the trauma he went through. Grian's heart breaks as he has to watch as Scar begins to crack and feeling hopeless before the elf's health should take a turn for the worse.

“There’s no easy way to say this, Itadori. The cancer is back and it’s spread to your stomach.”
The corners of his lips twitched, smile faltering for merely a second. He felt his palms begin to sweat as he kneaded and gripped at the fabric of his shorts, faded by the sun and beginning to wear thin. His vision began to fade at the edges, darkening while everything else began to brighten. The distant sounds of the hospital faded outside the examination room they were in, sounding as though he was underwater. Drowning.
“Did you hear me, Itadori?”
Doctor Shoko’s voice came, slicing through. Despite her usual vacant expression being ever present, he could see the crease of her eyebrows, concerned. She was worried. He didn’t want her to worry.
Letting out a hesitant and somewhat awkward laugh, he reached up, smiling, rubbing the back of his neck. It felt cold.
“Hah, jeez! That wasn’t what I wanted to hear!”

“How do I know?” The kid spits, knife raised again, trembling violently. His eyes are wet, angry and pleading and piercing right down into Grian’s soul.
“...If I can fly?” Grian asks, confused. His heart is beating fast.
The boy shakes his head violently, taking a lurching step forward, now only a few feet away. Something about his eyes almost seems familiar, but the thought is fleeting. The knife looks sharp. The child is crying, slow tears that barely have an effect on his voice.
“No,” the kid says forcefully. “How do I know you’re not a zombie?”
OR,
A young Scar fresh from a world overtaken by zombies stumbles through The Rift onto Hermitcraft, and is quickly adopted by the rest of the Hermits, who have no idea who he actually is.
