When Emma saw Normans leg twist and turn, she had given up herself.
From that moment on, she swore to save each and every sibling she had, every farm child she could possibly imagine, no matter what. No matter the price, even if she, herself, had to die.
When Emma gave up her life and was shipped out, she was given the choice to either die here and then, or try and become a Mother. She chose the latter, out of fear, out of the desperation a 12 year old girl should feel at this very moment. She hated herself for it, wished she could just die but some part in her was too scared, too scared to actually lay down her life, and every single memory she could think of.
When Plantation three burned down and around thirteen children escaped, including Ray and Norman, Emma was stuck with Isabella being appointed Grandmother, in hopes she might get her a Parent spot quicker than the one before her. Emma had become part of the system she swore to bring down, but with her part done, she had only fought to save herself and get to the very top.
