Receiving the order had been a surprise to many. Not to Fox. Palpatine liked to hint at things before they happened. He loved showing off his careful planning to someone who couldn’t talk to anyone else.
So no, Fox hadn’t been surprised when a handful of Corries had been dispatched to assist Ponds and Neyo’s battalion.

Still, he ignored his wince at the noise and looked up. Grizzer came bounding in, a big, sloppy grin on her reptilian face.

Summary
Shamrock knows the future.
