"What did you do?" Her voice came out in a whisper, shaking.
Snape took a moment to answer.
"It's become increasingly clear to me," he began, "that Albus Dumbledore cares more for what you can do for a war that may not even happen, than he does for your well-being. You said you died multiple times during your attack, and the school ghosts confirmed seeing an entity they could only describe as 'Death' drag your ghost away. Allowing you to be submitted into a dangerous competition against your will was bad enough, but the fact that someone unknown was able to get into the castle and kill you goes beyond carelessness. I have elected to remove you from the situation entirely."
Harriet's heart beat rapidly in her chest.
He kneels down beside the bed she sits on, to look her in the eye.
"I want to very clear. What I've done, technically and legally, is kidnap you."

Harriet gets attacked by an unknown Death Eater. Tortured and killed, she meets Death, who will not let her die. A distraught Severus Snape takes her far away from Hogwarts, where she has never been safe. Little do they know, a little surprise left over from that night is on the way.
