    Summary

Look, it's only a matter of time until they let something slip, Peter knows this, but he really didn't expect it to go this way. Who knew that staying awake for three days straight before going on a snack run isn't a good idea for secret identities and/or secret kids? ("I'm not Mr. Stark's kid! Seriously, Abe, why would you think that? It's not like he pays for me, clothes me, feeds me, helps me through nightmares... Oh. Huh.")

    Summary

Peter's pretty sure he didn't get injected by those guys with needles and their horrible drugs, but Karen insists he tell Tony anyway, so they compromise: Karen can check his vitals all she wants but Peter gets to go to school. It's not the best idea Peter's ever had, especially when the newest drug on the streets is a fear-toxin (insert bad Scarecrow joke here.)

    Summary

Owen Grady has always felt more connected to animals than to people. He capitalized on this connection in the Navy to train dogs and dolphins, and he uses it when Simon Masrani calls him to ask if he wants a job. Velociraptors can't be so different from all the other animals he's worked with, right?

    Then the first egg hatches.

He watches as sharp claws pierce the outer shell of the egg, slowly tearing open the material. The animal moves slowly. She’s just a baby, he knows, so her muscles aren’t at their best, but even now he’s sure those claws could rip out his throat with no effort. A yellow eye peers out from the gap in the egg. Owen stares back at it, unblinking. He smiles as a noise comes from the egg, a raspy chirp that makes an inhuman sound of his own bubble up his throat before he can push it back down.
