In which the author forces their own problems onto their favourite characters (James T. Kirk has diabetes). This isn't a kink thing, this isn't supposed to be much of anything at all, I've just spent too much time thinking about the possibility to leave all the ideas in my head.

Poker nights were a common occurrence with Jed Bartlet’s staff- after a particularly long day, or a particularly slow day, or someone’s birthday… Logically, technically, Kate was aware of this, but as an NSA agent, she’d never really been invited to one.

The thing is, it wasn’t as surprising as he wished it was.
If it was truly a surprise, he wouldn’t be seeing all of the signs he had ignored for years, all flashing through his mind’s eye. Extra bags, Abbey giving her husband an extra shot, the president’s hand shaking as he poured a glass of water. Things Leo had been able to brush off as things like stress, or an overprotective spouse.
But still, the signs had been there. So when Abbey Bartlet- his best friend’s wife, his next best friend, the First Lady of the United States- sat him down and told him that the President had been suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for several years, it wasn’t quite a surprise.
It hurt like hell, but it wasn’t a surprise.

Summary
Sarah Jane knew she shouldn’t feel so disappointed when two weeks passed and there was no reply from Miss Grant. After all, according to Jo’s previous letter, she was busy doing some research or another, and she didn’t even know Sarah. She had probably found it odd, if not worse, to receive a letter from a woman she had never heard of, instead of from the man she had written to in the first place. But Sarah Jane couldn’t help that odd, sad pang of hurt every time a day went by and she still didn’t find a letter addressed to her in the U.N.I.T. mailboxes. After all, she had just been looking for someone to talk to about everything, and had hoped Jo could at least be a friend.

Summary
You've seen it. A fic formatted like a classified document. A chapter that looks like a real social media feed. An interactive game, somehow, inside an AO3 work. You clicked the kudos button. You thought: how.
This is the tutorial that answers that.
A beginner-friendly guide to HTML and CSS on AO3 — no prior coding experience required. By the end of this series, you'll know enough to write formatted fics, build your own workskins, style your entire AO3 interface, and maybe make something that makes other people stop and think how.

Summary
It all starts innocently enough, with a house call to troubleshoot some data analyses on a Saturday. Before she knows it, Osgood is swept up in the Stewart family karaoke nights and gets to see a rather unexpected side of Kate. Will she be able to control her hopeless crush on her devilishly attractive, impossibly straight boss? Probably not. Will there be Cybermen? You betcha. Silurians too, if the weather holds.

Summary
There are some great quick-and-dirty guides to HTML on A03. This is not one of them - it is a comprehensive guide
It's now 2025, a decade later. A03 supports some new HTML and and we're all walking around reading fic on supercomputers that fit in a jean pocket. It was time to update.
The previous three chapters have been divided into smaller concepts. Each tag continues to have - at a minimum - a link to the w3schools page about it (so you can learn more), a code example, and the result of the code example. Most tags have their attributes, things like [src] or [title], listed and examples of how using the attributes modify the tags.
There's a chapter on Bad Ideas, including how some of the archive's default CSS is available to you to format your work (users can't turn that off by hiding a workskin!)
Oh. And I added a bunny army. You could learn how to add one too.
