Komaeda was friendly with everyone. He was not special for getting a friendly smile and a calm wave and strings of compliments because Komaeda acted like that with anyone. Hajime fought the urge to tell him that, as he guessed it could be considered to be a little rude. Probably. “Komaeda is a wonderful person.”
“He is…” The guy mumbled, smiling a bit. “He’s uhm… really nice…”
Hajime clenched his fists tight. He wanted to scream.
“He is, isn’t he?” He let out, forcing a smile that was probably a little too sharp. “The best husband one can ask for, believe me. I would know.”
That was. Huh. Not the word he’d intended to use. It’d slipped out, believe him.

If you asked a deeper part of himself, perhaps he'd admit that he'd never been praised like this before. That being called incredible and capable made him feel so many things he'd never dreamed to ever acknowledge. Perhaps he’d dare to say this unknown person he’d never seen in his life was putting him in such a high pedestal, he never wanted to come down.
Hajime wanted to be someone. He wanted to be recognized as someone.
Anyone.
This person thought he was good. They thought he was capable. They liked his reasoning. They thought he was smart. Like he was not some average guy in the reserve course of the school he admired so much, but could never truly belong to.
It felt so good.
He accepted the request before he could second guess anything else.

An overworked Hajime Hinata gets recommended an online game by his best friend in hopes he can detach himself from his studies. Komaeda’s smile turned in what could only be described as smug. He crawled a little closer, just so their noses could be almost touching. Hajime’s vision was superior to the average human being, and he could perfectly make out the colour of his iris, the contours of his pale face, the line of his nose, the pink shade of his lips. He wanted to kiss them, a lot.
“Hmmm,” He grinned, “Is Hajime perhaps trying to get a sneak of what I’m writing?”
