It turns out that if you tell the staff at a Muggle psychiatric hospital that you're a wizard, the former headmaster of a magical school, and also a murderous, serial-killing gang member of a racialised hate group, that they are quite likely to lock you up on a closed ward.
Incidentally, to Severus Snape - exhausted and war weary - that sounds like just the thing.
