Summary
Fanfic of another fanfic, heavily inspired by "Operation: I am Human" by StandingBi.
The Justice League believes Batman is a cryptid due to his tendency to use bird calls, hisses and grunts rather than words, odd mannerisms and other pieces of evidence that don't help Bruce's case. He struggles to clear the misunderstanding and continues making poor social decisions, which only fuels the fire.
Chap 1: Hal gets the crazy idea to flash a laser pointer during a Justice League meeting. Bruce believes a sniper has somehow broken into headquarters, and chases after the laser. Everyone gravely misinterprets the situation, believing it to be some sort of instinctual urge. It spirals into something comedic, and entirely avoidable.
+ Various instances of the JL charting Bruce’s poor social skills to an animalistic instinct.

His hips shifted against the wall before he told them to. His breath hitched, audible, humiliating, and he felt it land somewhere under his sternum like a stone dropped in still water. His pulse wasn't in his throat anymore, it was everywhere, thick and insistent, pooling low and stupid and undeniable, and underneath it, worse than all of it, was the low animal hum starting up at the back of his skull that he only ever felt right before something in him went sharp and wrong and other — except this didn't feel wrong. This didn't feel like the black-eyed thing that came out for monsters. This felt like his own skin had turned traitor and was asking for more.
"...Webs?"
Wade's voice. Different now — the manic edge gone out of it, replaced with something careful. He'd felt it too, probably. Felt Peter's whole body change under his hands, go tight and trembling in a way that had nothing to do with pain, and even Wade, motormouth Wade, apparently knew when to stop talking.
Peter realized, distantly, that he hadn't moved. Hadn't pulled away. His wrist was still caught, still pinned, and some new and horrible part of him did not want that to change.

Izuku realized, as Katsuki tried to plug the blood flowing from his nose, that maybe what their coworkers said was true. Maybe they tended to get a little too rough with their sparring.
And maybe as pro heroes they shouldn’t have been sparring to the point of collapse. But if there was one thing for certain, neither of them were able to walk away from a challenge. Izuku couldn't expect himself to, not when the punches felt so thrilling and Bakugou looked so good covered in bruises.
