Zagreus knows, from centuries spent around Hypnos to varying degrees, that the guy sometimes just gets like that. A little spacey, a little airy, a little impermanent and intangible like a- well, like a dream. Something wispy and immaterial, somehow physically present and yet not here at all.
The problem is, he's been doing it a lot more lately.

“Fuck you,” Sukuna snapped, instinctively reaching for the pants Satoru had pulled halfway down his thighs, but Satoru was quick to stop him with gentle hands over his own.
There was a soft expression on Satoru’s face, almost like he hadn’t expected Sukuna to seem so insecure about the situation. When Sukuna’s steadfast grip on his own pants loosened, any cockiness Satoru carried slackened, replaced with a reassuring smile– Sukuna wasn’t sure that was any better.

Summary
Zagreus has a clear mission: escape his home planet and his father, get to the spaceport Olympus, and find his family and his mother.
Right away, he manages to crash the shuttle Thanatos lent him, and then get caught stowing away on the starship Styx. Thankfully, Styx is co-captained by Zagreus' cousin, Hermes, who agrees to ferry him as far as Asphodel as long as Zagreus does him a favor and takes a piece of illegal tech to Olympus for destruction. Easy, right?
Easy. Until Zagreus discovers the living soul of a shade within the device.

After several minutes of feverish kisses, Achilles breaks them apart, pulling away from Zagreus just enough so that he can murmur the words quietly against his lips:
“Stay with us, Zagreus.”
Zagreus gently smooths out the tangles in Achilles’ hair, picking off the strands stuck to his sweaty skin, and tucks the ringlets behind his ear. Achilles leans into the tenderness, closing his eyes. He sighs to catch his breath, and it sounds like longing.
“Stay with us,” he repeats.
Zagreus is a university student who feels aimless in life. His girlfriend dumped him, things between him & his best friend are weird, and he lacks ambition in his studies, all while the optimistic visions of his generation’s future are becoming lost. Until one day, he falls into the orbit of Achilles & Patroclus―a charming, yet eccentric pair who completely alter Zagreus’ outlook on life & death, love & loss, past & future, and the transitions in between.

Everyone in all of mighty Achaea knows of how protective and proud Menoetius is of his only son — so much so that it reflects in the boy's very name — Patroclus. Pride of the father. The boy has been a revered figure since the very day of his birth, given he is an omega in a land where his kind are not only worshipped but are also rarely descended from royal families because of their very strong alpha lineage.
Now eighteen, and eligible for marriage, suitors begin visiting the grand walls of Opus to have a chance to catch a look at the prince, and possibly gain his hand. Menoetius gives his son the leave to choose his husband, but it does not mean he will make it easy for anyone to just whisk him away. So he plucks a few pages out of books of older traditions and revives "Athlos" — a series of games that had once been held in the honour of omegas, to allow them to see and select the best of the alphas for themselves. To separate the wheat from the chaff.
Menoetius watches mighty princes trip over each other for his Patroclus. For him, it is a challenge — a dare to see who could take away his precious son from him. He already sees himself as the victor.

Achilles tilts his chin up defiantly, in an effort to stare Patroclus down. He only succeeds in looking like a petulant child. “It is considered a great honour to be a therapon to a prince, you know.”
“Honour is meant to be earned, not handed out as if to a beggar, or a dog.”
Achilles’ nostrils flare, his green-gold eyes gleaming dangerously. “Such scorn from someone who was training to be a common footsoldier just this morning. Many of the boys back at the yard would beg for this chance.”
“Then you should have chosen one of them, perhaps." Patroclus glances down at the expensive chiton and his brand new arms, and hates how heavy and foreign they feel on him. “I didn’t ask for any of this.”
The last thing Patroclus wants is to become therapon to the Prince of Phthia. He had his fill of princelings back when he lived in Opus—hell, he used to be one himself. He doesn't need some stuck-up demigod to size him up and appoint him his glorified manservant. He'd much rather pass, thank you very much.
Achilles, however, is unlike any prince he's ever met.
