Summary
‘Dawn’ was the name of a Champion, a young girl who had beaten the odds and come out on top over all the other trainers in the Sinnoh Region, who had been lauded as a battling prodigy on the cusp of a decorated career. It was the name of a starry-eyed child whose life was brimming with opportunity.
Akari was no longer that child.
And yet ‘Champion’ was a title that opened doors which an ordinary trainer would never have the ability to. It was a title that came hand in hand with duty, but one that held no small amount of power – power that could be used to scour the earth for hints of a dragon that most relegated to mere myths and legends.
Dawn is finding her uncle, no matter what name she opts to use. No matter what name he opts to use.

Taking on the role of Gym Leader would mean that he would be able to battle, day in and day out, with his new team. The tempestuous storm that he had only been able to let loose during that battle with Geeta would have countless opportunities to rage free, filling him with that very same heady rush of glee and frenetic action.
It would mean returning to the pursuit that had given him life, yet the same one that had taken it away.
After his journey in Kanto reached its ultimate conclusion, Red's panicked flight from civilisation lands him on a very different mountain. Halfway across the world, where his fame hopefully has yet to spread, he attempts to rebuild.
Blue follows anyway.

He recognised the attack in a heartbeat.
N’s formula to change the world involved three key variables. Team Plasma, the Pokémon League Champion, and the Dragon of Ideals, Zekrom.
Ingo, dormant within the Dark Stone, had other plans - and so did his brother.

maybe it's the speed at which I wrote this but I keep rereading it (while making little SPAG corrections) and being sooooo pleased with myself, genuinely tailor-wrote to my own sense of humour and favourite tropes, plus I'm really happy with the way I flitted from character to character and scene to scene, and how I rounded off each chapter.
perhaps more could have been done on the truly POV outsider/pre-reveal side, but fr there's at least 4K words of that. If I really REALLY want more, more than I want to get on with my other fics and catching up on my studying missed during my burn-out-prevention-break, it might be time to reread the rest of HoO to find out where tf Nico went and write that.

Holy shit this is good. I was on my night shift / med student humiliation ritual / med burnout recovery day & I wrote some fic then binged this entire fic in one sitting, more or less. I think I started at about 3:40PM??? And it took me until 8:40PM to finish reading, with a break for dinner, a break to socialise briefly, & then a break for sorting out some life admin. My god, this was an amazing read. Subscribed & so hyped for the next chapter however long it may take. As soon as this is done I'm going to dl to kindle and read it all over again. Goodness gracious, I'm genuinely flabbergasted at the amount of research and mythology infusions that this fic has, not to mention the Hades lore and characters being combined with all of that. This has taken the author 6 years to get here and they're still chugging along, so much respect, 100/10, oh my fucking god :')))
Absolutely amazing. No regrets.

Lovely story, reads like a true Zelda story, although my passion for the fandom having faded made it less enjoyable on reread, it was still a lovely thought-out and well-written story. Story focus definitely shifts from L/R to F/S over the course of the story, but it's honestly so cool to see the imagining of the Four(>Time)> Legend>Hyrule>Rift(>Wild) timeline in the context of the events of the story, overarching antagonist, and also Linked Universe. Very nice!!
Addendum: oh my god I did not realise it was 170k words in total. No wonder it took me so long to read.
