    “I had nowhere else to go,” Rumi said, barely holding herself up under the storm.

    Jinu blinked as he looked at her standing in front of him, as if he couldn’t believe his eyes. As if she were an illusion that could vanish into the rain at any moment. His eyes swept over her with such intensity that he was sure she could feel his gaze like a physical touch. And then he saw the blood.

    Before his brain could process it all, she seemed to let go of the last thread of will keeping her upright, and collapsed. And again, without thinking, he caught her in his arms as if it were the most natural thing in the world. As if she belonged there. As if they weren’t sworn enemies who had tried to kill each other.

    In the end, Jinu knew something was irrevocably wrong in his head, and the ultimate proof was how he carried the body of that hunter as if she meant something to him, and took her into his apartment, even though he knew that if anyone found out, he would’ve been better off born dead.

    At this, a dangerously gleeful grin spreads across Damian’s face. On a kid like Robin, such an expression could be considered cute or even funny. On a full grown man, they all take one step back - well, except for Black Bat. She seems equally delighted by whatever she’s seeing.

    “You know what - you’re right,” Damian tells Nightwing. “I think that you can help us with this little project of ours.”

    “Oh, there’s no way that you’re actually the Demon Brat. He would never ask for help,” Red Robin mutters under his breath.

    “I’m older than you, I think,” Damian points out.

    Red Robin blinks, processes this, then proceeds to have mild conniption.

    “Answer me!” Robin yells.

    Oww, Peter thought blandly as he shifted- no, scratch that, tried to shift- onto his back but quickly decided that wasn’t in his best interest. Voices, both his own and not, swam in his head like a wave beating against his forehead.

    “They’re coming here because of me, right? Because I’m Peter Parker? So cast a new spell, make everyone forget who Peter Parker is. Make everyone forget me.”

    “It wouldn’t be enough. Your very presence would destabilize this universe.”

    Peter finally managed to roll himself over onto his back, ignoring the sharp pain that shot through his spine at the movement enough to sit up and look around. He was in an alley which thankfully held no occupants save himself and the trash littering the ground.

    “But I can… I can send you away. To a place where there is no Peter Parker. No Spiderman.”
