Summary
When Skull Commander Shepard, veteran of the First Galactic War, is assigned a squad of Helldiver recruits fresh out of training, she balks. When it comes to killing bots and bugs in the name of Democracy, there's no one better. But training recruits? That's an assignment she dreads. That is, until she meets her new team: namely one Garrus Vakarian, handpicked from one of Super Earth's newly-Liberated outer colony worlds. They get along instantly and their chemistry is palpable--much to the dismay of her other charges.
After the SES Spectre of Liberty crash-lands during the Fall of Malevelon Creek, the rag-tag team of misfits must find a way to survive a world now infested with Communism and devoid of all Liberty. Will they hold out until SEAF can launch a planetary counter-liberation campaign? Or will their names be recorded in the annals of history along with all those before them who died for Democracy?

This is a companion piece to my other story (Paragons, Renegades, and Managed Democracy) which seeks to explain how a government like Super Earth's would come to accept aliens into their ranks. It's not necessary to read PRMD to understand this, but without PRMD this is just some disconnected worldbuilding.

Summary
If Ochako had to choose anyone to be psychically connected to as a result of an unfortunate quirk, Bakugou is about the last person she would choose. Really, the only person she'd hate being linked to more is Deku, who broke her heart last year. Naturally, that means that while she was in a fight with some evil child-killing bastards after a long day of saving lives, it had to be Bakugou the villain tied to her mind. They say two minds are better than one, but Ochako doesn't think they meant it for this particular context.

Summary
If it weren't for her grandfather, Weiss would have lost her wings at birth. If it weren't for her mother, she would have lost them as a toddler, when she was still too young to remember them. If it weren't for her sister, she would have lost them as a child, the moment she was old enough to be afraid of them.
Weiss arrives at Beacon still counting down the days to her eighteenth birthday, when she will finally get rid of them for good. It's the obvious next step. Until, that is, her team does what they do best, and makes everything a whole lot more complicated.
