Die A Victim (Or Live Long Enough To Become A Scapegoat) by inimitability

Summary
This is a fact: Abigail Hobbs wanted to live. She lured innocent girls to their deaths to stay alive. She killed Nick Boyle to stay alive. If someone tried to kill her, especially another father figure in that same kitchen slitting her throat, she would resist. She would fight back. She would not stand still and politely wait for her death.
Based on the angle of the arterial spray on the wall, Abigail Hobbs died standing upright.
Conclusion: Abigail’s killer held her in place.
This is also a fact: As encephalitis worsens, it causes muscle weakness, specifically in the arms and legs. Will was constantly feverish, having migraines, hallucinating, and losing time. His encephalitis was severe. It is likely he lost a significant amount of strength in his arms.
At the time of her death, Will Graham was not strong enough to hold Abigail Hobbs upright.
Conclusion: Will Graham could not have killed Abigail Hobbs.
So who did?
(While locked in the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, Will has a lot of time on his hands and not much to do besides think.)

Summary
Obi-Wan keeps noticing a strange feeling in the back of his mind. It almost feels like a bond, but he hasn't created a bond with anyone new recently. It's strange, though---something about it is very familiar. It kind of reminds him of his lightsaber. As confused as he is, he isn't going to worry about it, though. It doesn't feel malevolent. In fact, it feels safe. So why would he question a good thing? (Even if it does keep getting stronger... and distracting him enough to make him walk into walls.)
Or: Five times Obi-Wan feels someone's mysterious connection to his saber at an inopportune moment, and one time he feels it exactly when he needs to.

Summary
Cody discovers that the warm feeling of peace-affection-home he gets when he touches his General's lightsaber goes both ways. When he picks it up, he isn't the only one whose heart gets just a little lighter. Finally, he's found a way to make his General relax. There's only one thing to do next: take advantage of that for as long as he possibly can.
Or: Five times Cody used his General's saber to help, relax, or comfort him, and one time he used it to help, relax, and comfort them both.

saber-assigned soulmates (and other exaggerations) by inimitability
Fandom: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) - All Media Types

Summary
The kyber crystal chooses the Jedi. Wielding a saber whose crystal didn't choose you will never be as easy as wielding your own. This means sabers a) have the capacity to like or dislike people and b) have the capacity to be obstinate little shits to people they dislike.
If a certain Jedi's saber really likes you, I'm not saying it means you're soulmates, but I'm not saying it DOESN'T mean you're soulmates, either.
Works reference each other but stand alone fairly well, so reading previous isn't necessarily required. Series is listed as incomplete because I keep coming up with new ideas for more but each work has a solid ending so if I wander off and don't come back to this you'll never be left on a cliffhanger.

Summary
A what-if discussing what could have happened if the Empire found Zeb and Kallus on Bahryn instead of the Ghost crew.
Number of works will depend on how, when, and how often inspiration strikes. Marked complete for now because it has a solid ending, no cliffhangers or anything, but I'll probably be back at some point!
Series timeline (spoilers)
Work one: Kallus POV. Kallus decides that since he wouldn't have survived long enough to be saved without Zeb, it wouldn't be right to let him die. He calls the Ghost to make sure they'll make it to Zeb in time.
Work two: Zeb POV. The Ghost crew picks him up from Bahryn. He has no idea how close they came to being too late. They tell him about Kallus's call and discuss whether that means he's on their side or not.

Summary
And so Shane steps into the Voyageurs' locker room, Luca on his heels, leaving the door open just a crack so Ilya and the others can hear what's going on.
The room goes quiet immediately, all faces turning to Shane in shock.
Hayden's the first to react, scrambling up from his stall, eyes wide. "Shane? What's going on?"
"I just wanted to see if any of you were willing to talk? So quiet on the ice today. I thought you'd have things to say to me, all things considered." Shane sweeps his gaze over his former team, uses his disappointed-Captain-voice and feels a smidge of smugness when it clearly hits them as it always has. "So say them to my fucking face, not behind my back."

Summary
When Luke Skywalker—operating under the name of Luke Lars—accepts a job offer from none other than Darth Vader to become the next Head Engineer aboard his flagship, The Executor, a.k.a. The Lady, he hardly expected his life to take as much of a turn as it did.
Learning how to navigate his way through the microcosm of culture that is the Lady, Luke finds that life is far from quiet in his new home. Friendships and rivalries are made, inventions and politics throw everything into disarray, and throughout it all, Luke and Vader slowly find themselves drawn closer to each other, much to the relief and awe of many of the Lady's crewmembers.
Follow our favorite engineer from the twin suns as he goes from strangers, to friends, to adoptive family with his mysterious new mentor, and changes the face of the galaxy forever in the process. There are mysteries about the past to be unraveled, inventions to be made, wars to be fought, and family bonds to be forged in the fires of revolution and rebellion.
They say that Darth Vader has no heart, that the Empire and its Emperor are eternal, that the Jedi are dead and gone, and that nothing will ever change.
"They" have obviously never met Luke Skywalker before.

Summary
When the call connects, Will says, “I know what kind of crazy I am, but I’m not this kind of crazy.”
“Will?” Dr. Lecter says.
“Yes, hi, sorry,” Will says. “It’s me. There’s a baby on my porch.”
