“We really gotta teach you how to kiss someone properly,” he blurts out the words before he can stop them, like a simple remark.
…Okay. There are many ways to hint someone to stop doing a certain action, but this is definitely not one of those.
It also doesn't help that he's supposed to be his mentor, and that Slime also tends to take things too literally.
“Really?” His partner tilts his head similar to a lost puppy. There's something about his eyes too, something about the shade of green in his irises that remind him of the beginning of life itself. Goddamnit. These comparisons are getting out of hand. Stop it, dude!

“It’s just so–“ lightning flashes, the entire room suddenly absorbed by the blinding light. A heavy crack booms outside, and Quackity can feel his teeth rattling with the intensity as Slime jumps up, spooked by the heavy crash of thunder. His eyes are blown wide as he stares out at the now settled sky, but he quickly tries to mask the fear with a small smile. “--Loud.”

Summary
Coping with the loss of his Charlie, Quackity fights a losing battle against grief. When everything reminds him of hat he lost, its hard to move on. It's stupid, isn't it? Charlie was only a part of his life for such a long time, he shouldn't even feel this sad about it. He should just suck it up, bottle up his emotions, and move on.
But why is it so hard to get out of bed? And why is it so hard to forget someone who, for a known fact, is most likely never coming back?
Most certainly not because of love.

Summary
Slime re-enters Quackity's life much the same way he barged into it the first time. He doesn't pop out of a wall after observing him from afar, no, but he does seemingly appear out of nowhere for no particular reason at all. One moment Las Nevadas is barren as ever and the next, well, it's still very much barren. There's only one additional body bringing the population to a grand total of two, but it doesn't matter to Quackity because the one at his doorstep could fill an empty room with his presence alone.
The surge of emotions he feels are similar to that day as well. There's the shock, the panic, the wondering if what he's seeing is even real. (Which isn't an unfounded fear to have. Prime knows over the past few years he's seen familiar faces when there have been none. Heard voices of ghosts in the desert breeze.)
"Hello, Quackity from Las Nevadas."

Post-finale and post-nuclear explosion, Slime returns to Las Nevadas and to Quackity.
