“Yeah?” The man runs his eyes over Eddie’s form with a grin that makes Buck want to put him in a shopping cart and return him to whatever aisle he came from.
"Look, I’ve also slept around a lot. No judgment," Buck grits out. "But there's a codex."
"A codex," Eddie pipes up, amusement curling at the edge of his voice. Buck ignores his pointed look.
"It's common courtesy. You don't hit on someone who's just come out. There's, like, a grace period."
The redhead stares.
"...a what?"
"A thirty-day adjustment window."
Eddie snorts.
Buck presses on.
"Minimum."
or: After Eddie comes out as gay, Buck handles the possibility of Eddie dating other men as well as you'd expect him to. Five times Buck is jealous and one time he realizes he really isn't the only one.

It should have been weirder to hear that. He should have been surprised or even shocked, in denial. But it just feels - right.
Like a piece clicking into place that he didn't even know was missing.
"I - um... yeah?"
"Yeah." Maddie says, taking his hand in hers.

When Buck loses his memories, he is back to his 26-year-old self.
All he remembers is how he hated Eddie Diaz.
But now his sister tell him he's come out as bi and his boyfriend is a firefighter?Wow.
He knew he couldn't have hidden his crush on the other man for long. He's apparantly now got a little family of his own and he couldn't be happier with his boyfriend and their son.
That is, until he learns his boyfriend's name is Tommy.Not Eddie.

"Eddie?" Shannon picks up on the fourth ring. "Everything okay?"
"I kissed a man," he says.
The silence on the other end stretches for nine thousand years. Eddie can hear Shannon breathing. He can hear his own heartbeat slamming against his ribs. He stares at the apartment building through his windshield, at the lit window on the fourth floor that might belong to E. Buckley, and waits for his ex-wife to say literally anything at all.
"You what?"
"I kissed a man, Shannon. Just now. I was delivering food and he opened the door and I just— I kissed him. On the mouth. And I don't know why."
Another silence. Then a sound Eddie recognizes with dawning horror as Shannon trying very, very hard to suppress a laugh.
"Shannon."
"I'm processing."
"You're laughing."
"I'm processing." She fails spectacularly. "I'm sorry, I just— you kissed a man? Edmundo Diaz? The same Edmundo Diaz who wouldn't watch Brokeback Mountain with me because it made him 'uncomfortable'?"
"It did make me uncomfortable!"
"Yeah, Eddie, I'm starting to understand why."

Eddie’s head tilts down, just enough to be obvious, taking a look at Buck’s ensemble. That little voice in the back of his brain is screaming, He’s checking you out! But Buck chooses to ignore it, he’s not going to get his hopes up just yet.
“Place is gorgeous, isn’t it?” Eddie says, stuffing his hands into his pocket as he turns to face the room.
Eddie doesn’t even know it’s him. The feeling of knowing he can be anyone he wants, fills his body with heat. Confidence starts surging through his veins like wildfire.
