Summary
After the events at Jakku, Izuku had thought that the final battle between One for All and All for One was far off. He was prepared, willing to make the sacrifice of separating himself from his friends and family in an attempt to protect them and keep them safe.
And yet, he was still unprepared when All for One made his move.
All for One wants the final showdown, the centuries-old war needing to come to an end. He'll destroy whoever he needs to, however he needs to, till he can fight brother against brother.

"Why does it matter?" She asked. Don't get attached, don't get attached, don't get attached, she repeated to herself. She couldn't afford to have more than a cursory interest in this strange gentleman she had met in the woods who had rescued her book.
"Because I was wondering if I could visit you again here. In case the squirrels steal your books again?" He looked hopeful despite the tease and Rachel felt the anger and humiliation rising in her chest again before noting the kindness in his eyes. He wasn't making fun of her… he was making fun of the situation.
Rachel knew what her answer should be. She knew what Lady Azar had told her about meeting other people and how dangerous strangers could be especially because they brought about emotions that were hard to control.
"Remember Rachel, you must not speak with anyone," Lady Azar warned every day.
Rachel nodded, forcing herself to shove down the guilt as it rose before it became visible in her eyes.
"I won't Lady Azar", she always promised.
Finally having made her decision, Rachel steeled herself, letting out a quick breath before she answered.
"Alright."

His mom didn’t let him play outside for months after that. Few parents in the neighborhood did. Some of them didn’t seem to care, though.
“My kid has a strong quirk,” he heard one father say while he waited to get picked up after school. “No villain is grabbing her off the street, I can tell you that.”
Katsuki couldn’t believe he would say such a thing. Maybe it was true about some kids – Katsuki would never let himself get kidnapped by a villain, after all – but most kids weren’t any more powerful than Deku was, even if they did have quirks.
