“I’m just saying, you better not corrupt our future Fox-Claremont-Diaz kids into partaking in your treason.” Alex bellows from the other side of the kitchen, the humorous lilt to his voice noticeable. Henry, previously in the middle of describing to Alex what exactly a well-rounded breakfast is (For him, baked beans on toast, for Alex, a handful of Sour Patch Kids and 3 espresso shots), physically feels his thought process come screeching to a halt as he stutters out, “-Fox-Claremont-Diaz?”
Alex tilts his head to the side, shooting Henry an affronted look while saying, “What? You want to add the ‘-Fox’ to the end? I’m down for anything, baby, and besides, they’ll be American through and through and I won’t have your Grandma trying to turn them any more British than they’ll already have to be, and that won’t start with fucking beans on toast,” Alex rambles on, flicking Sour Patch dust all over the kitchen floor.

“I could tell you about one of my other dreams? The one I woke up from this morning was rather remarkable.” Henry says, a little more confident this time.
“Oh? Tell me, baby.” Alex breathes out, feeling his dick harden just at the mention of Henry sharing his thoughts about him.
He swears he hears Henry audibly shiver at the mention of the pet name and he lets out a shuddering breath. God, it sounds like he’s barely holding on and they haven’t even started yet.

Henry let’s out a chortle, a laugh mixed with a snort that should be unattractive but is the most beautiful sound Alex has heard all fucking day.

“Oh? Not your ‘candy cane jimjams’?” Alex shuffles his shoulders when he says the phrase, and mimics Henry’s received pronunciation.
“No, you oaf — it’s May. They have little penguins on them, if you must know.”

“Walk me through what you’re thinking.”
Dr. Langdon’s voice came from behind her. Before she had the chance to turn, he stepped closer, leaning over her shoulder to look down at the screen.
It happened so fast. The warmth of him at her back. The clean scent of soap mixed with coffee and something else she couldn’t place. His hand reached around her to point at something on the screen and for half a second, his arm brushing against hers and she became acutely aware of the little space remaining between their bodies.
Her pulse stuttered. Any explanation she had died in her throat, instead only a quiet, choked noise came out. She was effectively frozen, completely against her control.

Mel blanched, swallowing hard, eyelids stuttering. But she had to keep her cool. She could not yell. She could not freak out.
“I told Aunt Irene that you were bringing your boyfriend.”

“Well, I told her that Dr. Langdon was your boyfriend.”
Mel brings Dr. Langdon as her plus-one to her cousin Claire's wedding. Dr. Langdon is all too willing to pretend to be her boyfriend. Maybe a little too willing? To follow: a dog bite, spanking-related misunderstandings, erotic steak eating, and of course: only-one-bed!
