Anakin stared between his two children, utterly lost. "Why would your mother turn into a worm?"

Stan was just getting used to his wolf-like blessing (or curse, probably curse) of not needed to sleep anymore when he was unfortunately captured but not killed.
Fortunately, he managed to escape.

Summary
Stan suddenly has an unexpected heart attack. Ford does what he must to save his brother.
'He’s back at his brother's side in seconds thanks to the cramped nature of their ship. As soon as he returns, he gently opens his brother's mouth and slides two pills under his tongue. Ford laments that he had no time to crush them as he gently nudges Stanley’s chin to shut his jaw, and tenderly brushes his prickly cheek with a thumb. The tips of his fingers have become numb.
“It’s going to be alright.” He murmurs, speaking more to himself than he is to his brother. The words come out between barely controlled breaths. “You don't get to leave me just yet. Wherever we go, we go together, yes?”
Ford sticks two pills in his own mouth now, storing them in his cheek for the time being...'

Out all alone on what was meant to be a simple errand, collecting herbs for Merlin, Douxie is downed when some pickpocket throws a fistful of black powder in his face - a magic suppressant and poison to wizards, he comes to find out the hard way. Unable to move or use his magic, as attempts to do both cause nothing but agony, the moppet has no choice but to rely on the slim hope of someone finding him before the poison overtakes him.

Summary
Stanford Pines has missed a lot in his thirty years of nonconsensual multiverse hopping. This includes the changes the DSM (and society) has undergone, a fact he realises as he attempts to research Mabel's new diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder - one which becomes increasingly relevant as he contends with the ever-increasing chances that he is autistic.
Basically, Ford realizes he's autistic and has to deal with recontextualizing his past sixty-something years of life with this new information, very loosely based off personal experience.
Sidenote, I hate that the puzzle piece is so associated with abelist assholes, it would've been so thematically appropriate to give this fic a puzzle related name for its self discovery themes.

(That didn’t seem right to Dipper. At one family reunion, some of the grown-ups started arguing. Great-Uncle Ford responded with a sharp look and a single word. “Stop.” he said, and they did.)
“He’s unstable.” Dad said, voice firm and disinterested. “Be careful around him.”
(That didn’t seem right either. When the twins approached, he always had a warm smile ready for them.)
“He’s family.” Grandpa Shermie said, picking his words carefully. “He might be a little strange sometimes, but that’s what matters.”

Stan was having a terrible night. He went to a bar to drink his sorrows away, ended up getting drugged, and had his car stolen. With only a few cents in his pocket and no other options, Stan decides to do what he normally does when he’s having a particularly rough time: he calls his brother. But in his drugged state, he forgets his usual routine of staying silent.
Stan ends up spilling a few things he would never say sober. It turns out that just might be for the better though.
