Matt had forgotten about the rest of the room, the rest of the party. By some miracle, the singled out woman in the pink top has yet to notice Matt, Jay, or Pete.
"That's okay," Matt knows, even as he's saying it, that it's the wrong answer. There is no right answer. Matt can barely flirt on a good day, and this is the worst day of his entire fucking life.
"Not my type." He adds, stupidly.
"Aw, what?" This must be Pete's best day ever. "Come on- aren't you the 'maximal womanizer'? Or whatever you called it. I wanna learn from the best!"
"He's tired, Pete." He hears Jay say. How pathetic must this be if Bird's coming to his aid, after everything?
