Summary
Chen Yi has to do a lot more to win Ai Di back. He has to bring him back home.
-Because Ai Di would never turn down protecting him. He didn't think he physically could. And knowing that Chen Yi knew that too and chose to exploit him anyway, all for some stupid lie just to try and get him back to where he knew Boss Chen had seemed to want him.
It had brought Ai Di back into the gang somewhat, and made it impossible to avoid Chen Yi like he had been desperately trying to since his release. As if he thought that Ai Di was still something convenient, and something he could still use as he pleased for whatever it was he needed that day.
He was in limbo, stuck in a space of complete uncertainty with nowhere he could plant his feet. Once again able to be used and pulled by invisible strings like a puppet. The one leading directly to his heart and very core of his very self being tugged and pulled at the most.
The lie had been his last straw. Or more, the helplessness and anger it had made him feel had finally gotten him to move and do something. Because he couldn’t settle, so didn’t that mean it was finally time for him to run?

Tang Yi gets attacked on his way home from work and has to be rushed to the hospital. Shao Fei, of course, is immediately there to care for him.
“Sweetheart.” Shao Fei leans forward to kiss his cheek and Tang Yi turns his head into it, head still resting against the pillows where he was propped up. “How are you feeling?”
“Better.” He says truthfully, unable to look away from Shao Fei’s wide eyes, which hadn’t left him since he’d realised Tang Yi was awake. “How are Wang Xie and Kuan Lin?”
“Fine, back at home already.” Shao Fei rubs his thumbs over the back of Tang Yi’s hand. “Both are pretty scraped up and Wang Xie has a fractured collarbone. But other than that they’re alright.”
“How long was I out for?”
“Only about an hour.” Shao Fei takes one of his hands, reaching up to gently start stroking Tang Yi’s hair. Probably using their time alone in the room to do so, as Tang Yi wouldn’t allow it in front of anyone else. These soft moments were for them alone, nobody else deserved the right to see either of them like this.

Summary
Chen Yi and Ai Di are summoned for a meal with Boss and Ming Lei to celebrate Ming Lei going into remission. Meaning Ai Di would be seeing them for the first time in five years. Leaving him in distress.
Chen Yi had been meaning to give Ai Di the collar he had made for him since the other man had gotten back from prison, and while seemed like the worst time to give it to him, he can't seem to think of a better one.
Something secure, something Ai Di could hold on to and know that Chen Yi owned him, would have the constant confirmation that Chen Yi belonged to him, and would always be returning to him.
He’d had one commissioned as soon as Ai Di had gotten free, and had kept it in a velvet box in the back of his wardrobe, waiting until the time was right, or they had a minute where neither were stressed or distracted out of their minds to bring it up and ask him.
But time had kept passing, and things had kept happening. So he’d kept putting it off, claiming to himself he was waiting for the right time.
The right time wasn’t now, honestly this seemed like the worst time.

Even after everything had somewhat settled. Even with Chen Yi now at his side, knowing full well what that meant for the both of them. Even with the stability of the bar and the gang finally all willingly under Chen Yi’s leadership. Ai Di still found it hard to feel safe.
He’d never felt safe, even going back to his childhood. His first memories had been blurry and undercut with a current of anxiety and instability. He’d never felt settled, had always been on alert. And life after that had only made him even worse.
And it pissed him off no end.

“So when did your mum want to meet up?” Kenma asks when Kuroo comes back into the bedroom, flopping face first onto the bed. Kenma had finished filming his Undertale video in pretty good time earlier that evening given Kuroo had gone back to work, so he’d had time to get things done without distraction. He’d have to start editing tomorrow as well as filming for his shorter video too. The long weekend with friends and wrapped up with Kuroo had left him feeling like he was behind on his scheduling. Even if it wasn’t true. So he was catching up and trying to get ahead.
“Wednesday, uh tomorrow. Because we’d be out anyway.”

Saving the game, he turns his switch off and stretches as he stands. Grabbing his phone from where it was charging he pockets it and goes to the door, waiting as Kuroo slides his jacket on.
