    No matter how gorgeous they may have been, Val was deeply uncool. The hot chocolate with mini marshmallows definitely subtracted from the cool factor.

    Yet, still, as Kris smiled slightly (and tauntingly; it had to be) and retreated to curl up at the foot of the couch, Berdly couldn’t shake the sense that he’d been one-upped here, somehow.

    Berdly invites himself to a winter break D&D campaign and gets really into roleplay. When the lines between his character and himself begin to blur, so do their feelings about a certain rival player.
