“You turned me down.” Ranma answers, his voice even. When she looks up, his face is expressionless.
“Why?” she asks quietly.
“I don’t know.” He takes a deep breath. Swallows. “But I think maybe.” A pause. He tries again. “I think maybe it’s because I didn’t tell you the truth.”
She looks at him. His eyes look like two grey stones; his mouth is pressed into a thin line. “What is the truth?” she asks.
“I miss you.” He says.

Akane never worried too much about the future. She figured, after high school, life would stay much the same... until her father's sudden passing changes everything. Ranma keeps asking her to talk to him, but there's too much they've never said-- too many feelings buried under old habits, too many jokes masking unspoken desires. After all, how do you ask for what you need when you can't even admit it to yourself?
An emotional(ly constipated) post-manga slow burn in which, through painful misunderstandings and clumsy acts of tenderness, these two idiots finally learn to be honest with themselves and with each other.

For whatever reason, Ranma decides to join their bar-hopping. (it has nothing to do with the guy clearly flirting with Akane, nope)
OR, after a big fight that leaves Akane splintered and wilting, she moves out of Nerima to start university. Ranma gives her space (until he just CAN'T).

Summary
Peridot accidentally gets herself stuck in an alternate timeline in which Steven barely escaped Homeworld after he failed to reason with White Diamond. Pearl, Amethyst, Yellow, Blue, and Sapphire are still being mind-controlled, and the Crystal Gems now consist of Steven, Connie, Bismuth, Ruby, and Lapis. The alternate version of Peridot, however, has been presumed shattered. Nobody's seen her for over a year since she disappeared.
Then the Peridot from our timeline shows up, and discovers that her alternate self left behind a plethora of bizarre coded messages that lead them to believe that maybe the other Peridot IS still alive...which is somehow connected with the machine that got Peridot stuck in this messed up timeline in the first place.

This is a story about the first time Peridot fused. Well, this is a story about a lot of things happening to Peridot for the first time, but it's mostly about the fusion thing.
Things got messy afterwards. They - that is, Peridot and Lapis' fusion, which is sort of "they", right? - ran to Pearl for help, and Pearl found she might actually be the one who needs helping, and then everything kind of spiralled from there, but that's not important. Peridot and Lapis fused, and that's a good thing.
It is a good thing, right?
