Summary
Hawkins looks normal again, and that's the cruellest part of all. Lawns are trimmed, storefront windows replaced, asphalt poured thick over ruptures that run deeper than anyone admits. The air smells like cut grass and hot pavement instead of sulphur and ash, the sky an unbroken blue that feels almost mocking. Hawkins pretends it wasn’t almost swallowed whole, and sometimes it feels like pretending is the only reason it’s still standing.
But for the ones who remember, nothing's as settled as it looks. In the space between surviving and leaving, something begins to shift. Steve retreats into the familiar roles, distancing himself for the reasons he can’t openly explain. Dustin, standing on the edge of a future that feels both inevitable and fragile, can't stop noticing the change, and what used to be easy turns uncertain in ways neither of them knows how to name.
As summer stretches toward goodbye, they’re left circling something unspoken, something that might change everything if either of them dares to face it.

Summary
After his bi-regeneration, the Doctor decided to settle down with the help from Donna and her family, having realized he needed it. Recent events had taken a huge emotional toll on him and it was time to slow down and enjoy his life at an ordinary (snail) pace. Meeting his next incarnation and having a chance to talk to him felt like a balm to the soul, the Doctor held hope all was going to be alright one day.
It had been easier said than done though as a couple of weeks into staying in one place at the same time was driving him crazy and the Doctor needed to move, just to feel again the excitement and freedom of travelling whenever and wherever he wanted.
And facing the wrath of Donna Noble upon his return was something for his future self to deal with.

“That’s it. I’m out.”
“C’mon, seriously? You know what I meant, it was just a slip of the tongue,” he tries, reaching for her. “Your names are just really similar! Kristen– Dustin-- come on, you hear it, right?” As Steve says the two names together, all he can hear is how dissimilar they are. He winces.
“Nope. I’m not buying it this time,” Kristen says shortly, pulling her wild hair back in a curt pony tail and slipping her blouse back on. She turns and checks her makeup in his bedroom vanity, reapplying lip gloss with a smack. “The first time was funny. Second time was awkward. Third time? Third time makes this a definite *thing* and I, for one, do not need that in my life!”

Summary
Collecting my stories, fics and drabbles that all explore Steve and Dustin's camping trips, road trips and moments in nature. They are not all part of the same universe and their relationship status changes depending on each story. I could have also titled this series "Making Time for the Occasional Adventure" but some stories are set at home in Hawkins rather than out on the road.

Dustin didn't need Steve to worry about him, couldn't cope with the idea of someone else doing something stupid and drastic and life-ending to protect him.
He wouldn’t allow it.
Even after he has the shit kicked out of him. Even as Steve promises Dustin won't lose him. Because Dustin knows it’s a promise he might not be able to keep, though he knows he'll keep the one of his own. Words spoken so long ago yet truer now than ever.
