Summary
Hawkins looks normal again, and that's the cruellest part of all. Lawns are trimmed, storefront windows replaced, asphalt poured thick over ruptures that run deeper than anyone admits. The air smells like cut grass and hot pavement instead of sulphur and ash, the sky an unbroken blue that feels almost mocking. Hawkins pretends it wasn’t almost swallowed whole, and sometimes it feels like pretending is the only reason it’s still standing.
But for the ones who remember, nothing's as settled as it looks. In the space between surviving and leaving, something begins to shift. Steve retreats into the familiar roles, distancing himself for the reasons he can’t openly explain. Dustin, standing on the edge of a future that feels both inevitable and fragile, can't stop noticing the change, and what used to be easy turns uncertain in ways neither of them knows how to name.
As summer stretches toward goodbye, they’re left circling something unspoken, something that might change everything if either of them dares to face it.

After his bi-regeneration, the Doctor decided to settle down with the help from Donna and her family, having realized he needed it. Recent events had taken a huge emotional toll on him and it was time to slow down and enjoy his life at an ordinary (snail) pace. Meeting his next incarnation and having a chance to talk to him felt like a balm to the soul, the Doctor held hope all was going to be alright one day.
It had been easier said than done though as a couple of weeks into staying in one place at the same time was driving him crazy and the Doctor needed to move, just to feel again the excitement and freedom of travelling whenever and wherever he wanted.
And facing the wrath of Donna Noble upon his return was something for his future self to deal with.

The world was ending. Or more like, it had ended a long time ago, and since then Gabriel had been on the run from his power seeking brother - Lucifer. God had disappeared right after their petty arguments had grown into bloody fights and Lucifer had gone too far with his vengeance.
Sensing the shift in space, the archangel realized that it was his chance to escape this Hell on Earth. The risk Gabriel was willing to take just to keep living and maybe see the world complete again before everything had gone to shit in his world...it was both overwhelming and frightening. And cowardly. But the image of getting somewhere better and finding a new purpose was stronger than his guilt.

Sam could feel his lips opening to respond on their own accord but no sound came out of his mouth. He was sad that he would never have more with Sam, that he wouldn't be enough for Sam, that his personality and his methods of showing the younger hunter what he felt for him would always stay in the way. Sam couldn't possibly end up with someTHING like him, mentally telling himself that he should just go away, but at the same time hating to not be around Sam for long. Gabriel would rather "play through the pain" so to speak so he could cherish the times Sam smiled, even though it hadn't been because of him, or laughed at something Dean said.
