Summary
Jason Grace did not expect to wake from being dead, fully dead, no resurrection potion, no godly miracle, death, total. He maybe expected to open his eyes to find that he was a translucent version of himself, staring down the retreating back of the impatient Thanatos and the solemn face of an incoming Hermes. He had always thought that was probably how the after life started: death walking away, and your one way only chauffeur coming to pick you up.
After his death at the hands of Caligula, the Fates decide that Jason isn't quite done. Instead of the Underworld, Jason is sent to a different universe-one where the gods died a long time ago, and Ancient Greek monsters are a new, unstoppable threat. This new universe also has a city protected by a colony of bats.

There are a few simple facts in this world.
The sky is blue, grass is green and the Gods pop out demigods like they’re being paid by the litter.

But in another world, the Crooked One’s curse prevents any child born from a divine parent to live. Should they survive their birth, they will emerge monsters, horrendously deformed and destructive.

“He’s a revenant. Strong one too.”

“Intel is rigged with explosives. And the Sergeant just so happens to be explosion-proof.”

Taskforce 141 is the only squad composed of exclusively revenants, individuals who gain powers after dying once. Ghost is the revered revenant Lieutenant, who's powers are unknown to most and are only referred to as "Limbo".
Ghost works alone. Until a certain Scot shows up.

Summary
Ghost can handle torture. Torture is easy, it’s been done to him so many times he can turn his brain off and it’s like it’s not even happening. Except they’re not torturing him, they’re torturing Soap on his behalf. Tearing him apart piece by piece so that Ghost will tell them everything.
But their mission is on the line, and Soap is telling him to let it happen, that his life isn’t as important as keeping their intel out of enemy hands.
So he bites his tongue while they break Soap, just waiting for the moment they make a mistake.

"Okay, so we are never doing a con like that again," Quinn said, after a successful artifact retrieval.
The job had involved a three-week con with Quinn playing a mysterious crime boss and Eliot playing his violent enforcer.
"You don't think I played the role well?" Eliot asked. The job had gone off without a hitch and he, for one, thought they had both played their roles perfectly.
It was an easy space to slip into. It reminded him of how simple things were back in the military and the PMCs, where he could let someone else call all the shots. All he had to do was unleash his violence as directed and trust whoever was directing to take care of everything else.
Of course, with the PMCs, well. He'd learned the hard way never to trust himself to a corporation, no matter what patriotic values they may have been founded on.
With Quinn, though. Quinn had played the boss flawlessly--the man with a plan, to whom you could trust every aspect of your being.
"No, you were perfect," Quinn said. He paused, then added, "It was terrifying."

Summary
Soap has found everything he ever wanted within Task Force 141. People he could trust, a second family, and even somebody he could love (even if just one-sidedly). He was prepared to share his biggest secret with all of them, he trusted them not to judge him. However, before he could summon the courage to do so a mission goes horribly wrong and Task Force 141 has to deal with the fact that they possibly lost Soap forever.
Two years after the tragic mission the Task Force saves a dog-wolf hybrid during a raid on accident. Said canine gets attached to them instantly, especially to Ghost, who never recovered from the loss. The wolfdog goes back with them to base and while his behavior is strange at times, he may be the best thing that happened to the team in a long time.
And they have no idea how true that really is.
WolfShifter!Soap-AU with lots of angst, emotion and a happy ending, just how I like it.
